Heather and Barry's Wedding
Barry's Story
In the summer of 2000 I had just started whitewater kayaking after a three-year hiatus. Martin re-introduced me to his friends Steve and Rachel who are also kayakers and happen to live close to a river I paddle frequently. On two or three different weekends I drove out to their house on Friday night, stayed and paddled with them on Saturday and Sunday, and drove home on Sunday night.
Got Kids?
A number of our guests have young children. The way we see it, a wedding is all about family and so of course kids should be included! So:
- Children are definitely invited and welcome.
- We may arrange babysitters during the ceremony if parents think their kids may not want to sit through it.
- We are planning kid-friendly food and activities during the reception.

Things To Do
One of the reasons we chose Bar Harbor is because of the multitude of activities to be had in close proximity. Most of these are located minutes away from where we will be staying at The Atlantic Oakes.

Please let us know whether you are coming and for how long.
Martin
The best big brother a guy could ever have, we are happy to honor him in the most important day in our lives, despite some past history with Cheerios.
How We Met
We are getting married one week before our seventh anniversary as a couple. Here you can read Heather’s and Barry’s perspectives on the story of how we met.
