Places to Eat
Bar Harbor has a wide variety of restaurants and snack shops, every single one of which sells both lobster and blueberry in one form or another (consider what that means for an ice cream parlor). Here are some of the places we’ve been that we recommend for dinner. We’re sure we’ll be adding to this list as the summer progresses; not many places in Bar Harbor are open in January!
Guinness Porcelli’s Italian Cuisine
Just outside of town center. We ordered from their Winter Special menu. Heather says the gnocci was out-of-this-world yummy. 207-288-0030
Jack Russell’s Steakhouse & Brewery
Across the street from the Atlantic Oakes. They serve an excellent prime rib. They were very accomodating for Heather, converting a portabello mushroom appetizer into an entree. 207-288-5214
Siam Orchid (Thai)
In town. The desk clerk at the Oakes recommended this restaurant to us and he definitely knew what he was talking about. Everything was excellent, and the owner even connected us with another fine establishment—the Morning Glory bakery just up the street. 207-288-9669
Geddy’s Pub
In town, near the pier. A fine place for a burger, beer, or other pub fare, including a wealth of vegetarian options. Complete with crayons and colorable place mats! 207-288-5077
